Song Of the Day: February 14, 2005
I couldn't pass up a chance to be timely AND present you with a favorite 45 from the talented Darren Cooper at the same time, so here's the Parasol Records debut of Three Hour Tour, a nice blend of the Beatles and Cheap Trick that was very popular with the other guys in my old band, the Wilmas. Another 7", two full length CDs, and several compilation appearances followed. Mr. Cooper has recently been spotted helping out his friends The Velvet Crush. By the way, I'm not sure about the date on this; it's a guess based on who I was hanging out with and what other records came out at about the same time. For some reason there is no date on many of the early Parasol singles.

What an awesome song! Great lyrics and gorgeous vocal melodies, especially the uber-hook on the "Is this really Valentine's Day?" line.
I have never had a good Valentine's Day *ever* and physically sneer at recoiling well-wishers when they ask me what I'm doing for Valentine's Day every year, so this song really spoke to me. :)

I believe that Three Hour Tour is about to release a bunch of new material. Something about two new full length CDs and two new 45 singles in 2006. If so, I can't wait to hear the new stuff.

I found this single on ebay. I also bought the "Next Time" single on ebay. They are both great records. Whats this about a re-mixed?

Their first full length CD was re-mixed by Three Hour Tour and Adam Schmidt, or is it Schmitt. I hear it sounds great. Pretty cool.

The "re-mix" album is available on iTunes and Rhapsody (where I got it from). I'm not sure where to buy the physical CD. I did not own the original though I thought I read that it was considered to be underproduced and somewhat lacking in punch. Regardless if that's true or not, the re-mixed album has mucho punch. I would definitely take the plunge. I think it is a better album than 1969 which I like a lot...
