When I listened to track #3 i was reminded of a song I played on my “avant garde’ [sp?] college radio show. I knew it wasn’t SPK, they were more metallic sounding in 82/83. I had a short list of 6 albums, and I can tell you now beyond a shadow of a doubt [as I’ve just listened to it], that track #3 is Dome “Ar-Gu” off Dome 3.

Wow, this has been going for a year and a half and still some blanks? I can help with two of them, since they are the same band, one of my favourites, Moev from Vancouver. Though later dull, their initial line-up produced an excellent debut EP and album, “Zimmerkampf”, from whence come these selections.

#10 sound exactly like Au Pairs, but as I’ve heard all their tracks and this isn’t one, I’m stumped. I’m also pretty familiar with Pauline Murray and this isn’t something I’ve heard.

Todd: do you mean #13 is Rhythm Corps? If so, that gives us:

Oh man…so nice to hear Tone Set’s “Out Out!” (1982). Memories! Galen Herod and Greg Horn formed Tone Set in my hometown of Tempe Arizona. “Out Out!” Was put on Placebo Record’s “Amuck” compilation (PLA-103 A&B). Their whole shtick was to put TV clips in place of vocals on their songs. They met while working for KAET, a Public Broadcasting station in Tempe. Thanks again for posting these.

#12 is definitely Rhythm Corps from Detroit, Mi.
the song is called All in Vain from the EP Paquet De Cinq 1982
my EP has Rhythm Corps listed on the front, early versions have Rhythm Method.
get this, all the songs are available in MP3 format for download at MotorCityRock.com!
the first 2 ep’s are kinda rare and hard to find, Solidarity & Broken Haloes were minor hits in Detroit.

Hello all!
What a great website Little Hits is. I’m 47 and I could not get any of these songs. I have the same dilemma however. I have a bunch of tapes from the early ’80’s of an old radio station, WHFS, here in the Washington DC area, it no longer exist. There are a bunch of songs that I have been dying to find out the names of the groups and songs for the last 25 years. If there is anyone out there that can help me, I would forever be indebted to you and I would gladly compensate you monitarily. Please email me and I will email track samples.

I don’t think 3 is TG - I could see why one would think that - but (as someone who listened to ALOT of TG) - the rhythmn sounds unlike them…
