Spring Break Tunes!
Charlotte’s Web - Heart Trouble
Mighty Boy Records 45 1989
Australian indie-pop gem, first heard on one of Brian Kirk’s long-lost mixtapes. I love the vocal, which sounds kind of hushed and desperate at the same time and the contrapuntal trumpets on the chorus. Also, the drummer’s name is Felicity Dear, but I’m pretty sure that’s made up. They had an earlier 45, “Big Letdown” on Easter in ‘86, which is also worth hearing. I’m thinking that there was also a CD release in the early 90s, although I’ve never seen a copy.

GREAT TUNE!
I am searching for this record for a long time. It has not seen yet. Please tell it when you find copy? I don’t have this single though but I have their CD(2nd album).
All the best

Not one of the best posted on here, but the singer reminds me a bit of Feargal Sharkey, which is never a bad thing.

The name of the drummer, Felicity Dear, is definitely not made up. She was also drummer for a Perth band called The Holy Rollers, led by her songwriting brother, Greg Dear. They released an excellent pop-rock single called “Above The Law”, and an album (self-titled), which has a nice cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Stranger Song.” This was 1985 -1986.

Ah…sure. Makes sense. We’ve actually covered the Holy Rollers on Little Hits before (B-side of “Above the Law”). Maybe another Greg Dear project like Beautiful Losers as well.
Still…that’s a great name.
