Song Of the Day: June 24, 2005
A beautiful, stunning fiesta of swirliness from the very necessary only LP by the Bird Nest Roys, which is not only one of the best looking LPs on the label, but one of the most under-appreciated. The flipside, which doesn't appear anywhere else to my knowledge, is a similarly thickly strummed version of the Hollies' "Bus Stop."

Hey, post the Hollies cover! I love that song. And when are you going to post some Invisible Order? I know you must have it.

Yeah, I'm up for the Hollies cover too! Please....????
I meant to comment on this earlier. A handful of years ago, you guys at the shop stumbled upon what I took to be dead stock copies of this LP. You recommended it to me and thankfuly I took your advice. Thanks (yet again)!
great, overlooked pop/rock gem. a truly brilliant single.
I was lucky enough to find a used copy of their CD several years ago, and it's been a favorite ever since. Bided and Love are also great tracks. Add my name to the list of people who want hear the Hollies cover. Bus Stop!Bus Stop!Bus Stop!Bus Stop! Bus Stop! Bus Stop!
I have almost every important Flying Nun release on vinyl, but none more important than the Roys 1st and only LP. It it one of my precious treasures. It makes me happy, sad, and it makes me want to rock out. There is something so pure and unpretentious about their music. It's almost as if the music was made on an island of books, LPs, and guitars. In other words, heaven. That's the Roys music in a nut shell. Put in my vote for the Hollies cover, too!
