Song Of the Day, July 11, 2005
From the LP Kings Of Wyoming,
Community 3 Records, 1989
A recent flurry of CD-R comp trading with Brian Kirk reminded us how good this track is. This is from what we believe to be the only release from Kings of Wyoming, masterminded by former 10,000 Maniacs producer Albert Garzon. Cathy Crane's charming vocal recalls good stuff like the Revolving Paint Dream or the Hangman's Beautiful Daughters.

A great unsung dream pop record. I used to play that cut on my old radio show.
Thanks for the kind words re: "Janelle" & "Kings of Wyoming" - I was the drummer for KOW. I came across this post after doing a "Kings of Wyoming" search to test out Google's new BlogSearch feature.
It always feels good to know that our music touched someone - even 20 years after the fact. If anyone's interested, here are a few pix from back in the day:

I know this is an old post I'm responding to, but hopefully someone who can help me will come across this.
I discovered Kings of Wyoming while searching for info on a Feelies show I attended at a club called The Green Parrot in NJ back in the 80's. Anyway, I'm really curious now and would love to see what they sounded like, but after searching eBay and half.com, and following every hit of a Google search for them, I'm still empty handed. Does anyone have any Kings of Wyoming MP3s they can share?
Thanks,
Patrick

Oops. Nevermind. I just realized that the Song of the Day text links to the Janelle MP3. :-P
Good stuff. Don't know how I missed it as a college DJ in the late 80's.
