The Acts - I Guess So
Olga records 45, 1966
Improved Sound Ltd. - It Is You
unknown label 45, 1966
The Ways and Means - Breaking Up a Dream

More modpsychfreakbeat in an attempt to catch up. Plasticland's entire career may have been based on the Geranium Pond track. Sweden's The Acts present one of our favorite English as Second Language cuts. Then we have great folkish pop from Germany's Improved Sound Ltd. and a great 45 from the Ways and Means, a UK outfit that reminds us of the Easybeats.

Heya Jon-
I've been lurking here for a while and thought I would pipe in with some comments.
First, thank you thank you thank you for "Little Hits"! Your dedication to the site is inspiring. I knew that someday all that garage pop knowledge you've spent the majority of your life collecting would come out...but I never dreamed it would come GUSHING OUT the way it has! Please know that it is appreciated.
Secondly, I always knew we were extremely fortunate to have you as a regular columnist for micromag. I don't think I ever really got a chance to thank you for your contribution, so here it is- THANKS! I admit to lamenting micromag's demise recently after being contacted by fans who have requested to reprint interviews we did on their websites. Lawrence was a really cool place to be in the late 90's. We really embraced the second wave of the garage rock revival with major aplomb- and it was really exciting! It didn't hurt that the best music to come out of the late nineties happened to be re-issues or revivalists...like the Sexareenos (heh heh.)
And C, thanks for posting "It Is You" and the Gerianium Pond tune- how great are those?!
And finally, why no Powder or Pointed Sticks, yet? You always turned me on to so many incredible groups up at Lovegarden...but those are two of my favorites.
cheers!
Bob Deck
I just found the Powder post from January 28...of course Powder is on here! It is perpetually in rotation here at the Deck compound. cheers! Bob Deck
