Uncle Wiggly - Favorite Movie Theme
See Eye Records 45, 1990
This trio has always maintained a foot in two different camps without ever fully committing to either. Too weird and psychedelic to grab the twee indie kids, but a little too poppy and light to be fully embraced by the Ptolemaic Terrascope crowd, Uncle Wiggly are left with the small handful of people who like both. Luckily, that part of the Venn Diagram includes me. The flip of their 1990 debut single "Litmus Nephew," "Favorite Movie Theme" is a strummy-jangly near-instrumental with a vocal part that's so indistinct that I'm quite certain the lads aren't actually singing real words. Oddly appealing, though.

Kudos on posting Uncle Wiggly! I think they might be the most underrated band of the 1990's...
Here, here (...or is that Hear, Hear?)
uncle wiggly was the nickname we used for crystal THC < 1980.
what ever happened to bill?
I have a copy of that 45. The record is warped but it still plays.
On the other side is a tune called "Litmus Nephew".
The Picture sleave on the other side is cool too , a young boy swinging on a tree that is ornimented with white masks.
I won this record for pledging to a New Jersey collage radio station, what was it called ahh... W W MF MF U something.
This band featured WFMU DJ William Berger, who recently returned to the station after a long hiatus.
